Florida Rocks Again! #44: Even More of the Ones That Got Away

Florida Rocks Again! #44: "Even More of the Ones That Got Away"

Another collection of Florida 45s never before heard on the podcast edition of Florida Rocks Again! You'd think that after more than 40 episodes, there wouldn't be very many great Florida garage records that haven't already been heard on this series. You would be wrong. Witness the selection of Floridian teenbeat in the first two sets. There's also some smokin' South Florida soul and some '67-era greatness from the Kollektion and Blues Image.

Written and produced by J.M. Dobies, co-produced by Jeff Lemlich. Presented in Living Monophonic Sound.

Florida Rocks Again! #12: All About You!

This installment of Florida Rocks Again!, originally posted in February of 2006, features songs with the word “You” in the title. Starring Conlon & the Crawlers, the Montells, BOOT — the later, “heavier” incarnation of the Split Ends (”Rich With Nothing”) — and many more. Hosted by Mal Thursday, produced by JM Dobies and Jeff Lemlich, and presented in Living Mono. Special thanks to BossHoss for the Crawlers and Canadian Rogues tracks. Hope you all dig it!

Florida Rocks Again! in the Pensacola News-Journal

Troy Moon has written a feature article in today's Pensacola News-Journal about the local music scene of the '60s, inspired by the most recent episode of Florida Rocks Again!, "Jeff's Panhandle Party Platter."

Pictured above is the Sandpipers, backed up by Daytona Beach legends the Allman Joys at the Sahara Club in 1966. Charlyne Kilpatrick of the Sandpipers remembers that the Allmans were "skinny and ugly."

Good stuff!
